How long will this memorial last.

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. There's at least two memorials that I know of to the victims. So far as I'm aware they've never been defaced so why would this one be?
  2. The driver was commended for bringing the us to a halt safely...
That's right up there with the Chinese bus driver who safely brought his bus to stop whilst mortally wounded by a 6ft spike!
  3. Given that it's a tree - and that trees (not being made of metal) seem quite low on the pikeys' list of things to thieve - I give it a good chance of survival.

  4. Thanks Tuffy - whilst pretty knowledgable on Op Banner and related history, this was something I was unaware of (in my defence I was still in nappies at the time).
Might stop there and have a look at the memorial next time I pass -cheers again.
