Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Electric Automatic Cross Bow - YouTube
thats a semi automatic at but if you scaled it up to fire continuolsy just how much legal trouble would you be in for owning it.
Its obviously of little practical purpose but the idea makes me giggle :)
  2. Well it wouldn't be classed as a firearm, and as far as I know bows aren't yet regulated. I'd talk to a solicitor who specialises in that sort of thing first, if I were you. Cheaper than the fine would be.
  3. FDW

    FDW Old-Salt

the maker is UK based, pm him through u tube
  4. how pointless would a selective fire electric crossbow be?

  5. if I could be actually arsed to be such obviously barking weapon I could see a big market in selling it to people who obviously should'nt be allowed access to metal cutlery:)
    and Americans.

link up with independant Boffin (if he's still in on piece) to create the ulitmate in enviromenatly friendly death and destruction:)
  6. One of the greatest films ever made! Shirley the addition of poison to the bolts would be advantagous?
  7. Why? Sort of takes away the whole point of owning a crossbow.
  8. If you're under 17, you'll be liable.

Depends on the strength of the bow.

    Crossbows Act 1987

(Been a while since training school).

But let's face it, it's liable to be an offensive weapon however dressed up ("made adapted or intended for causing injury to a person") so be not really.
  9. Not this American. I want one of those vortex wave generators mentioned in your linked Youtube page. Something that can knock over an outhouse at a distance with a doughnut-shaped air current is a must-have item as far as I'm concerned.
  10. Ring up the coppers and ask them.

  11. No Thanks, I'll stick to my National Match M1A with Leopold Mk 4 scope, or in a pinch hook up with a Buddy in Pa. who owns several Thompsons(M1A1 & M1928A1) a Bren (ithink Mk II) and a .30 Lewis

Crossbows are for Hardy Kruger wannabes
  12. Yes but your allowed firearms and can shoot them relatively easily.
