Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I have not been given my start date yet but was just wondering if each squadron takes on certain recruits depending on the trade they are joining. Im going Army Air Corps, will I go to 108 sqn?
  2. You will go where you are required. End of.
  3. No

Mainly because 108 Sqn AAC does not exist

I think the OP is referring to the Sqn in Phase 1 training so ignore the other comments as neither answer is helpful or relevant. 2 ATR has 4 sub units, 1 (Fowler) Sqn, 108 Sqn, 76 (Maudes) Sqn and D Bty. Each is split into 4 or 5 Troops or Platoons. 1 ATR also has the same configuration, Jackson Coy, Chavesse Coy, 96 Sqn and 59 Bty. I don't know how they decide which you will be going to but I wouldn't worry about. They are all the same in as much as they will be taking raw recruits through Phase 1 training. It is only when you get to Phase 2 that things will become capbadge specific.
