How do I resolve this?

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I would be grateful if anybody could help me, using terminology that does not require several degrees in computerology.

When opening a number of sites which link to a PDF file, I receive this message:

    "Runtime Error!
    Program: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information. "

Do I have to contact the application 's support team (a pain for each site) or is there another way of dealing with the problem.

I have looked at various on-line solutions but, being a bear of limited brain, their explanations are rather difficult to understand.

ANy help would be grateful. Thanks.
  2. There has been an issue certainly with FFox and Adobe recently, which cocked up pdf files. Either go back to previous version or check for updated version.
  3. update windows as well had about 43mb worth of them today
  4. Thanks both.

The Windows updates would have kicked in when I log off for the day.
  5. Windows and Adobe Updates done, but the problem is still there.

    All further suggestions gratefully received.
  6. Use a decent browser. IE is for garglers of manfat.
  7. I spit out that suggestion.

Seems to be fixed now, after re-setting Explorer.
