Honours for a ranker

#1
Trooper Knighted at Gettingen, from MoD site.

Now this is impressive, a Trooper knighted by his King on the field of battle.

But I'm curious as to how welcome this was to the bloke in later years. Was it a benefit or a burden?. Did he stay in (or return to) the army?.

Anyone with further info?.

And what would be the befnefits/burden for any modern day squaddie so honoured?.

The HAC had/has a Tpr Sir X and Sgt Sir X recently..
That's a fairly normal situation for the HAC.

Having since seen a drawing of the guy in question, one of his attackers seems to have taken part of his forehead, most of his nose, and parts of his lips - possibly a single stroke.

Where the hell is Gettingen ... ? my tpying is getting woers
