Homeless Veterans

I found this very interesting link - http://www.crisis.org.uk/pdf/LestWeForget.pdf with a lot of statistical info on ex-squaddies living rough etc.

Nearly half of homeless people under 25 have been in local authority care, many have spent time in prison – and up to three in ten have served in the Armed Forces.

Up to 98 per cent of homeless ex-Service personnel are male
My father folowing his retirement from 37 years in the army started working for SSAFA. I was shocked at the cases he had to deal with concerning ex-forces members falling on hard times.
One common denominator my father noted was that the local authorities do not really give sufficient social and financial help to those in need. Ex-forces members sometimes are grouped as 'troublemakers' and 'difficult' by some social services.
He has been a caseworker for some years now and will until they plant him I suppose.
Anyway, I hope that someone will take pity on me one day if I need assistance!
Put some pennies in my cup please!!!!
