Hols4heroes (January 2013 urgent assist)

Call in from a concerned party.

Ex servicemen living on streets, visibly suffering with cold and the old squaddie failing off ridiculous self pride in the face of freezing your balls off.

Currently out of the cold now and being subject to central heating via Starbucks in the Midlands.

I've booked him into a local BnB tonight for three nights whilst I sort him out with other Forces friendly organisations.

Short term needs are:

3 Nights accom, bed breakfast and evening meal = £99.00
Change of clothes and outdoor jacket, underwear, shoes, washkit etc £100
£20 in scoff money

There are no apparent issues with alochol or drugs, just a bloke completely out of look, thought he no where to turn.

He's had a one way chat about getting into this situation and assured him he@ll be seen through to the end regarding housing, work and to begin lookign to the future and not kipping in a piss wet through dossbag in a doorway.

Giz a lift folks, £220 will make an enormous difference to this fella.

Its better than buying a somalian a fish or water for a child thats only going to get eaten by a vulture.

Quick update

Chap is doing exceptionally well, responding to help, been reunited with his family etc.

He's currently being rehomed, SSAFA, Associations, RBL all diving in.

Is there any chance we can raise £150 to square him away a suit and shoes etc, everyones eager to get him back in to the workplace.

Many thanks to all involved, been a rewarding sight, seeing progress over a couple of weeks.
