Holidays 4 Heroes - Harness (for the dog!) ends 22/05/13

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. In my spare time I make harnesses and collars for dogs and if there is any interest I'd like to auction off a harness, proceeds go to Holidays 4 Heroes. Below is an example of a harness I made. The winning bid will have to send me the measurements of the dog (so I can make it fit) after the auction has closed.

This is how the harness, made of "camouflage fabric", would look once finished (it's an over the head type, with a closing clip on the stomach).

With either an "I love beer button".

    Or "I love porn".

If you insist on having a pink harness full of Justin Bieber buttons, then that can be arranged too.

Discussions about harnesses vs collars can be carried out here:

Bids on the dog will be laughed at and ignored. Though, you bid high enough I'll let you blow gently in his face while you cup his balls.

    The auction will end next Wednesday: 22 - 05 - 1975

Thank you Stanley, what a great idea for an auction. Almost worth buying a dog so I can give it such a lovely harness!"

I've just spotted a Freudian slip in my OP. The end date is of course 22-05-2013.....

How much weight can your harness take? In case somebody was thinking of it for something stupid?

  6. I don't know how much weight the harness can take, but they come out pretty sturdy. My dog was wearing a "weak" one yesterday in agility class and it was fine even though he lashed out frequently in an attempt to murder a Briard. I'd also like to point out that the width of the straps will vary according to the size of the dog (and a sturdier thread is used).

If you want to do the activity displayed in the picture it's probably wiser to go to a good pet shop and have a harness measured. Otherwise the dog might injure himself due to an ill fitting chest strap.
  7. £20.

Don't suppose you've got an 'I love cock' button? Not for me obviously.

Those are my dogs! But the harness don't have buckles, probably as they'd be a weak point. Fur lined to make it easy on the dog
  9. I will have a look around for a button like that. :) And thanks for the bid!

They're lovely! If you "walk" your dogs like that it's indeed better to make them wear something without buckles. Mine sits in his basket on the back of my bycicle, lording it over the rest of the traffic.
  10. Congratulations and thank you PeacePhlapps
