The French in 2014 launched the L’HERMIONE, she’s a replica of a 32 gun Concord class Frigate. The original was captured by us during the Napoleonic Wars, the then Admiralty made detailed Naval drawings of her. These were given to the French builders at Rochfort when they approached the Admiralty.brilliant stuff !
I wonder if that could be built and rigged out today?
are you working there now? as a matter of fact a picture of the hammock netting on the port and starboard sides of the poop deck would be handy, Airfix doesn't supply them in the kit, and the sides of the Poop are just sheer, gust of wind and it'd be man over board. The netting acted like splinter protection when the ship was at Action stations. Ships boats if you can get to them too.I can get more if required.
Just tell me what you require. I had to do some googling for the definitions of some of the shots you wanted as I hadn't heard the terms before.
Pointy bits on top, blunt end and pointy end I am happy with.
A good lesson for me as well.
very handy mate, thanks for taking the time and effort once again. Blokes like you and daz and the rest of the lads on here are what this site is really all about. That Hammock netting I notice from your pictures goes down from the poop to the quarter deck steps, I've been wondering about that, now I can see what I've got to scratch build, cheers.
