Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Are Hexi Blocks still issued or is there an alternative fuel issued. Are the Ethanol sachets any good as I hear they burn longer and are cleaner on your metal mug ?
  2. we still get issued HEXI but our unit so behind the times that comms are sent via pigeon :)
  3. PE4 is what you need for a quick brew on ops.
  4. hahaha..... stir the tea bags thats for sure :)
  5. I do recall many moons ago using the tinned chocolate from an arctic ration pack as a substitute after running out of hexi, it burnt well but the residue was a ba*tard to get off.
  6. When I can, I use US Army Trioxane tablets. Very hot, cleaner than hexi and very easy to light.

Those greenheat sachets are shit. Not enough in one to make a brew, but two is too much.
  7. Well Fallshirmjaeger, now I know why I had to escort the RE's to a disused compound to test a commercial slurry explosive for wall breaching last September, you buggers were using all the PE for brews :D .
  8. Fuggoff, make yer own. Cnut.
