From the Times Friday February 9 2007

LIVERPOOL. A letter written in the trenches by the VC winner Noel Chavasse is being acutioned in Liverpool. The Letter, to a school friend,was written shortly before Chavasse won the first of two Victoria Crosses for bravery, and a year before he was killed in action. A spokesman for National Museums Liverpool said "Chavasse was one of the great heroes of WW1, and anything connected to him is keenly sought after." The auction will take place on February 27th
