  1. Hey folks,

Half way through my app to RMAS I did my back in and after an MRI have been diagnosed with a herniated disc (L5-S1).

Doc' says it's not bad enough to warrant surgical intervention, and says physiotherapy should get it under control.

From my (anecdotal) research all I can really conclude is that everyone comes out of disc hernia's differently, one not being able to pick up their toddler without immense pain, another bloke squatting 645 lb's or something.

Army health standards regarding this state that untreated spinal problems can bar entry. However, I suppose physio is a treatment of sorts.

Does anyone have experience regarding this sort of thing?

Any advice/input would be greatly appreciated.
