Count me in if we can find a decent curry house - apparently the Koh-I-Noor (sp?) near Altschdat (sp?) in Bielefeld is good, and will do curries 'british style' if asked for.

I can confirm that curry house is great as I use to visit it when we were based in Herford. The guy who runs it is from Liverpool IIRC.

IIRC from my last visit to Bielefeld (about 1992) there are lots of bars in the Altstadt area which serve Weissenbier, an excellent brand of rocket fuel not to be missed if you haven't tried it before! (It's even better than yellow handbags) :)

The Koh-I-Norr still sthrives and is the best ruby in Bielefeld.

Visit the Brauhaus for great German beer (helles, weisbier the lot) which is brewed on the premises. It also does great food, but you've got that covered.

For a more earthy feel, visit the Irish bar (under the Rathaus) which serves average Guiness on tap.

For the 'metro' experience, visit Bernsteins (on the top of the sportsheck building) which of the weather is good, has great views over Bielefeld, and top totty.

Peppers does cocktails, happy at 6 I believe.

All these establishments are in walking distance from Koh-i-noor.

Enjoy!
