Help tracing an ancestor

Ok the reason behind this is a mate wants to know about his Grandfather and I am certainly not going to do his work for him, I want him to enjoy looking and hopefully finding some family history.
This was Richards email to me, I suspect based upon the fact that I served in the 1980's and therefore know everything about history!
"I am trying to find my great Grandads war records

the family remour was he was at Gallipoli and so was the Royal Sussex and or the Sussex Yeomanry.

His name was Charles T Baldock Born 1886 In Mayfield and died in circa 1966

So I have sent him a link and hopefully he will take it on as a challenge. I certainly enjoyed finding out my Canadian ancestyors military history much aided by the fact that the last one has only just passed away!
I'm currently waiting for my late Grandfather's service record. He enlisted underage with his dead brother's credentials in 1930 and did 17 years. His service number was 553374 which has a Hussars prefix but he was badged RA. Anybody know why?
