  1. Hi troops,

I've got what may seem a really bone question to ask but believe me the information will help me big time with a problem I'm having with some bureaucratic civvy warts.

I'm trying to find out the average walking pace and thought that the people to ask would be the Drill School (which in my days was at Pirbright but God knows where now - probably disbanded!)

So does anybody know what the regulation normal marching pace is and in which manual is it laid out. Chapter and Verse would be greatly appreciated but any help would be great.

    Cheers.

  2. Cannot remember off the top of my head (30 inch?), but there are a number of different lengths for different people/occasions. As a walking measure I do 119 paces to 100m, but I am short. Most of my students do 108-112 to 100m.

  3. Excellent stuff, offog.

    That's a great help.

    Best Regards,

  4. And when one steps off, the first pace is of course 33 inches, rather than 30.
