I think you'll find that the RMP Cadets should wear the AGC Green Headress.....

True

To avoid the scenario of an 18 year old Cadet, wearing a L/CPL or CPL rank slide, and a RMP red beret......

Dress regulations state

"Except in the case of CCF contingents and ACF detachments affiliated to the Parachute Regiment, all ranks are to wear the headdress of the pattern worn by the Regular Army or TA regiment or corps to which their contingent or detachment is affiliated. The maroon beret is not to be worn by Cadet Force units affiliated to the Parachute Regiment except by officers and adult instructors qualified by previous service to do so."

You do have the, at least in my experience, odd situation of RMP being a regiment which is part of a corp, but I'd ask are they affiliated to RMP or to AGC. That determines what headress they wear. There is no special protection for rule for the cherry beret.

To avoid the problems Praetorian mentions they should be wearing ACF titles on rank slides anyway.

I refer you to the "Army Cadet" Magazine of about 10 or 11 months ago, in which it had an article that reported the establishment of an RMP detachment. They wore the green lid of the AGC, as does an AI in my old county who was ex-RMP, he wore the green lid as well.

As to the ACF titles....they should wear them, but that isn't always the case.

Just to add on to this our parent unit states that it wants cadets to wear the green beret as neither the ai's or cadets have done the trade training-red beret in cadets pure walting .....

Cadets wear blue berets with RMP badges as do adults unless they have previous form as monkeys in which case they wear red lids.

This is the same as RMP recruits at Southwick Park wear, so is in line with what the Regular units wear.

Well the pics I've seen all have 'em wearing the AGC lid?

Green. Not red, simple.

They havent done the specialist training to wear the cherry beret.

The first RMP 'badged' badged units did wear AGC badges and lids - but in line with RMP recruits they now wear RMP badges and blue lids. I may not know many things but I do know about my own unit and I'm reliably informed by the Reg Sec that other ACF badged dets do the same.

I stand corrected in that case.

I was going by our in house magazine that had an article about the first ones and they had an RMP badge on an AGC lid.

Despite the posturing and pretence of being separate, RMP is part of the AGC. The cadets and instructors should, therefore, be wearing green berets with the AGC three-lions badge.

That said, it's only the SPS who are now wearing that beret and badge, so blue berets and RMP badges are probably correct for the present.
