Four X-Factor Finalists have offered their support to an Injured Serviceman who is organising The Help for Heroes London Charity Ball 2008 will take place on 15th December at The Room by the River. The Contestants join the large number of public figures who have pledged their support to Major Phil Packer’s Quest to raise £1million for Help for Heroes.

Phil’s Challenges continue to pour in; he will Row the Channel in January, has been offered a Golden Ticket to complete the London Marathon (on callipers and crutches) in April and will climb El Capitan in June 2009. With the support from the Initial Press Release, Phil has now reached over £105,000. He remains adamant that he will complete over 20 sporting challenges prior to the Marathon and in doing so, will raise awareness of disability sport and provide opportunities for fellow injured servicemen.

Phil was injured in Basra in February this year following an incident after a rocket attack -causing catastrophic injuries with spinal cord damage and is now a paraplegic. Despite the severity of his injuries he is currently channelling his immense energy and sheer determination into helping his fellow injured servicemen and women. He is determined to walk again through sheer graft and tenacity.
