Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Can anyone say if this kit is any good. I've got a lifa base layer but it's not that good in cold weather. I note rv ops sell these at a competitive price but I'd like other peoples opinions before investing or other suitable alternatives.

  2. I just use the normal base-layer all year round. Within the UK I can't see you needing much else than what you have already! If you're on the move smock, t-shirt, then a HH Lifa, when you go firm chuck your softie/windstopper on.

But if you want to spend the dosh then crack on!

  3. I've got HH top and bottoms, black. Cracking bits of kit and well toasty.

An added plus is that with a balaclava I can double as a ninja when needs must......

  4. HH do an ice range which is part merino wool. Keeps you reasonably toasty, more so than the the Lifa's.

  5. Second that and they do them in green.

  6. Many thanks, that's what I was looking at I'll give it a try

  7. it is good, and Blacks have got them on sale at the moment.

  8. I swear by them. Gutted I didn't get them in green though. :x

  9. Blacks will also give you 10% off if you show your MOD90.
