Height for infantry regiments

Hello gents just wanting to know if there are any height requirements to become an infantry soldier (para more specifically) bit of a short arrse myself.

I think with the PARAs that is a distinct advantage. They have height / weight restrictions, cannot be too tall or too heavy.

Advantage for an infanteer - don't need to dig such a deep trench (unless you buddy up with the platoon lofty).

In my day, being able to fit properly into a green maggot would also have been a plus.

Disadvantage for a paratrooper: Weights for jumping are all-up weights, i.e. lighter blokes get more equipment to carry.

I was 5' 4" when I joined, early 60's, and I wasn't the smallest, in infantry. putteesinmyhands, don't know how this relates to your post, as I'm a dinosaur and don't do metric.
