Bloody hell - you get a badge for riding a nag :? we didn't even bother with trade badges for doing a proper job

I would imagine its worn alongside all the normal "combat" qualifications and with same pride as all the battle honours we have and continue to have earnt since 1662.

Hey it's just a thought :D

Just making a guess here but is it like the marksmanship badges that are worn on the lower right sleeve of the service dress?
Maybe you get it for being one of the top shots in your regiment with the main armament or something? Again, just a guess.

And I thought it was a stirrup – awarded to all those who can ride around Hyde Park twice without falling off :D

and I'd love to see what

I would imagine its worn alongside all the normal "combat" qualifications and with same pride
looks like, the only combat qualification badges I've seen were called medals.

Well spotted, I meant combat "type" qualifications like Para wings, Skill at arms etc....

I thought, looking at the badge, it was for being a marksman at shooting tortoises hiding behind owls with outspread manky wings.

It would make them pretty rare like.

TuT TuT Gentlemen the badge is a stirrup over two laurel leaves, anyone would think no one had seen one of those during their army careers. Now stop playing as though you dont know what it is, tell the Gentleman the answer, and when you do, tell me, cos i aint a fecking clue what its for either!
:)
also sign both the petitions in my sig block and i'll go back to sleep

Stuck it on my regimental forum and got this
Is it an Embroidered arm trade badge for the Household Division And Cavalry Units Mounted Duty for Number 2 Dress, similar to the ones we used to wear on the Armoured side.
:D
