Wonder how that happened? Do you think he was too busy looking at the map on his leg, or checking out the totty on the beach and flying 'hands free'? Fnar fnar.
I was actually standing on the beach photographing him as he was travelling backwards. As he came to a stop his engine cut and he jumped, he was lucky there was no fire as he landed back on top of his cockpit. Rescued 20 seconds later and casavaced by ASR helo, he suffered a sprained leg!! Photographs came out well, anyone want some?
That was the airshow where he came down from Waddington about 2000/2001 if I remember rightly.

BoI found he had pulled the wrong lever and throttled back instead of changing the angle of the engine nozzles.
