Gwent arms factory 105 jobs could go

Did you actually read the article ?

"Increased automation at Glascoed as the result of a £50 million "site transformation programme," and reduced demand for ammunition from the UK MoD meant that the cuts were vital if BAE was to remain competitive"

Or are you saying that there should be more investment, presumably with more redundancies ?

MORE than a hundred jobs could go at a munitions factory near Usk, BAE Systems said this morning.he company said it is beginning a consultation with trade unions on potential job losses at its UK land systems business.

The firm said that up to 105 redundancies are proposed at the Glascoed munitions factory, near Usk, which currently employs 620 people.
Around 80 per cent are likely to be contractor posts.
So is that of the 105 jobs to go, 80% will be contractors? I may be mis-reading it.

Anyone know more than what is in the Argus?

I guess the lads of today are becoming better shots as there seems to be just as much shi** going on if not more than a few years ago.

Depends exactly what munitions I guess. IIRC they produce artillery ordnance.
