Gurkhas to Afghanistan.

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. As reported in today's Sunday Times it looks like the Gurkhas are to be sent to Afghanistan (and apologies if that is not news to some of you).

It just struck me as being particularly apt that, in the week that Rifleman Tulbahadur Pun VC is welcomed to this country, his old regiment is, once again, called upon to perform difficult and dangerous work on behalf of the crown.

That is what they are paid for, maybe just not as much as others .

  3. Or perhaps the Gurkhas shouldn't be used in case people think the only reason Rifleman Tulbahadur Pun VC was allowed in was to make it easier to send them out. I would imagine if teh Gurkhas are being deployed it's been in the pipeline for a long time. Or perhaps we should send some British regiment out on an extra tour.
