Gun Appreciation Day- Casualties

#1
For those of you not in the know, the first Gun Appreciation Day was held yesterday across 'Murica. The event has been set up and financed by various right wing groups, lobbyists, white supremacists and the usual bunch of people ranging from the paranoid to those who are eager to compensate for the fact that their penises aren't generally long or hard enough to be able to penetrate pubic hair, but who cannot can't afford an imported sports car.

Welcome | Gun Appreciation Day | January 19, 2013

I'm glad to report, everything went swimmingly, with reports of only five people being accidentally shot at three different gun shows.

In Raleigh, NC, a guy NDed when pulling a shotgun out of its case and ended up shooting three people waiting in line at a safety check point.

A dealer at a gunshow in Medina, OH, pulled the trigger on a pistol he just bought without carrying out NSPs, sending a round into the floor which ricocheted into another guy's leg and arm.

And in Indianapolis, IN a guy shot himself in the hand in the parking lot while loading a .45 pistol he'd just bought.

Good drills, boys and girls. You really helped show us all how guns aren't dangerous in the hands of law-abiding citizens.

Tempting as it may be to chortle at the Americans, if gun ownership was as widespread among our chavmong classes as it is among their trailer trash, I'm sure we'd equal or excel their score.

So in all that there were only three incidents, all weapon handling related, at least two of which should have known better. You get more crashes going to watch motor racing.

so is that 5 extra shootings on top of the 132,000 casualties they normally get? if so then its proof that guns are dangerous.

guns dont kill people bullets do - interesting that california takes details and a thumbprint of who buys ammo so they can reference it to see whether they are allowed to or not.

12 billion rounds every year apparently.

And how many of the 2 dead and 6 wounded were at gun shows intended to show how safe guns are?
As usual your understanding of what you are posting about on this issue is minimal.

The 2 fatalities and 7 woundings occurred with illegally held weapons in Chicago.

Despite crabtastic's attempt to link them none of the 3 NDs in the OP occurred at the Guns across America rallies, they happened at gun shows.

What they need is much tighter gun control laws. After all look how well that is working in Chicago with some of the most restrictive gun control laws in the US

2 Dead, 7 Wounded In Shootings Since Friday « CBS Chicago
How many of those were bought with guns that were originally purchased perfectly legally and then knowingly sold on to criminals with little or no risk of comeback on the seller?

Crime is good business in America, it pays for gunmakers, gun sellers and the lobbyists like the NRA to represent them. It's not just that the fear of crime (luridly reported) which of course sells guns legally but criminals themselves who are actually more likely to be repeat customers because they're more likely to lose guns, discard guns or have them confiscated.

It is therefore in the interest of the American firearms industry , including the NRA, to ensure that guns can get into the hands of criminals and whey they so vehemently oppose any form of effective registration, tracking or accounting system.

For fucks sake, doesn't seem to be a day goes by on here lately without someone starting a thread that turns into another monotonous 'gun control' debate.
And everyone makes the same points that they did on all the others. I'm not sure whether to post that pic of the Colombian bird with the SLR again, or suggest the whole thread goes to the hole.

They shoot dogs too, Yank cops are notorious for it.
