#1
Primarily for the DETAPOs, here is a list of the HQ staff functions, as a handy insert for your nirex.

No problem. Please could you email to the other DETAPOs? Or better, send them the link to this forum?

But don't worry if it's all changed by the time you get to JOTAC ;)

Here's how I remember it all:

G1 The Man
G2 The Spy
G3 The Here & Now
G4 Supply
G5 I Plan
G6 You Communicate
G7 What They Do
G8 With What
G9 For Who

Not perfect, not 100% all my own work either and, even if it was, I'm no Wilfred Owen so feel free to publish your own versions

I am sure there are multiple spoof versions around.

I've emailed both G1-G9 and the orders docs to the people who's email addresses I know and asked them to forward them ontothe other DETAPOs

Would some sort of 'electronic nirex' on the wiki be useful?

Royal Signals do a very good self teach pam called ARMY ORGANISATION AND
MILITARY MAP SYMBOLS
(tdtmod1.pdf), its available on the TDT CD (which all TA signals should have)

BTW this is basic signals knowledge that all trades should know (any prospective class 1 operators should also be given the CD I mentioned above as it contains all the pams needed for the pre course entrance test)

I would add to the site but it is restricted and once again ArmyNet shows how usefull it is by not including them on the SOinC's community.

This sort of information should be learned and not stored in a orders book

I would be very cautious of an electronic nirex in the public domain. Most of the info in my nirex is restricted or above.

7Qs, order templates that sort of stuff.

What's in yours? OK you'll have to kill me and eat me, I know ;)

G9 For Who
Abacus,

I haven't seen those before and they are a very good summary!

At the risk of being shot down in flames, I disagree with the last; surely it should read "For Whom?"?

Ernest Hemingway wrote c1940 the novel "For Whom the Bell Tolls".

A Pedant called Litotes

A standard nirex already exists - it's called the TAM. The point about having your own is that it's personal, not standard, and so can't be on the wiki?

Mine changed through the years and depended on what I was doing.
