    No, seriously, I don't know!
  3. Something you dont want to carry as its heavy and shouldnt be discussed on an open forum .Join the guards and you will find out :D .
  4. Last time I saw one it had an antenna sticking out of it, so my guess is its a radio.
  5. Let's put it this way - it is an opsec thing which like Woody pointed out could be potentially damaging to troops if discussed...!
  6. Cool boxes. One with ice cream, the other lemon popsicles.
  7. Ahh - judging by the tone of MeenBee's post, I suspect it to be nothing more than an empty cardboard box shaped to look like a radio. Its an image thing I guess.
  8. Guardsmen who fail the Household Division annual test for walking with appropriate bearing (ie erect rather than slouching) carry these boxes for a number of weeks until their posture is corrected. They contain sand.

A similar remedy exists for mounted troops who sit too low in the saddle.
  9. When you need to know you will get one and find out the hard way!
Sod being the poor fecker carrying it with all those cans in it though :)
What else do you think they do on stag for 8 hours?
That plus a spare pair of smalls for overnight stay of course ;-)

  10. Try carrying one of those Barstewards over an 8Km route clearance in
    South Armagh...

No really..Its the queens Butty Box...
  11. Dah, its the drill manual for guards volumes 1 to 30. The drillesteins carry them everywhere. :D
  12. When was that? Heh if c1991.

Oh the joys of a stroll down the Dundalk Road...
