The best 4x4 by far.
even jeremy clarkson said on top gear.

would buy a mark 1 if i could afford the 3 door version.
nowadays a good one goes for the same price as a modern one!o_O

Rangies were superb until they became vehicle de jour for WAGS.
I saw one the other day - norrafok could you tackle anything more than a pavement.
I picked my old man up in a mid 80s Rangie at Heathrow many years back.
"My BMW is quicker than this!"
"Yes dad, but can your BMW carry 5 blokes and half a ton of kit up a 20 degree slope in the snow?"

The Citroen Série Maserati has always done funny things to my trouser department. Not very practical for carting gun-dogs around Yorkshire, though. View attachment 389213
I've always loved the big Citroen cars, as they're beautiful but as mad as a box of chilli flavoured chocolate frogs.

And that one is particularly pretty. Nice choice.

This gives me a semi ... mainly because it is mine! :)

Absolutely, I agree. That engine was a beast at it's time. Corrado was more powerful standard than the Golf.
Both were poor to handle due to being massively front heavy. But straight line. The stuff of champions.
My Golf below was great, tuned up to 225 brake and de cat stainless exhaust that just sounded awesome.
All good til I sold it to a mate who within two weeks......dyked the beauty and thus sadly gone.

Actually that made me chortle. I had the classic for a decade and they did the Andes trip on Topgear. His actual words then, (trying as ever to deride anything BLmade )was “so infact the worst car has turned out to be the best.”

Mine regularly did.

A Fiat 8V, I think? Must admit it stumped me a little (initially thought Cisitalia!) but I'm sure I've seen it in one of the books on Zagato I've got.
