Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I understand that as a Graduate, you have accelerated promotion within the Armed Services, from Lt to Cpt (or respective RN and RAF equivalent)??

Is there further accelerated promotion with an Masters Degree??

thanks in advance for your help

how come this system isn't used within the Graduate Non-Commission Ranks?
  2. Yes, you will get credit of up to 3/4 years for a degree. After that, ie with a Masters, you don't get anything else. If you are really interested or want more info then use the search button and read one of the dozens of threads on the subject.
  3. You might as well wait a little longer and get a doctorate. Those holding a PhD get fast-tracked for field marshal. Sir Jock Stirrup, the Chief of the Defence Staff, is only 35!
  4. :D
  5. Other ranks get promoted on ability :D
