Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Shocking waste, a superb commander and a guy that genuinely cared about everyone he worked with, regardless of rank or service.

    RIP Tom.
  2. I first met Tom when he was the XO on 54(F) Sqn back in 02, kept telling me off for calling him SIR! He was great to work for and an absolute gent.
  3. Tragic news and my thoughts are with his young family.

Tom was a top guy who was destined for the top. RIP.

  4. It was extremely sad at Northolt yesterday when we were told the news outside SHQ. Gp Capt Barrett was a highly respected officer, treated ALL with respect, irrespective of rank or position. A great support of regular, reserve or civlian roles on the station, he will be greatly missed. There are very few officers who command respect today, he was one of those, a true gentleman.
