Government savings

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. In order to make efficiency savings, what can government as a whole do? I would have thought that it could be the simple things (A4 paper, clothing, stationery) which are bought in bulk could be purchased collectively to make a saving. It would lead to extra admin but every little helps.

    Where could we make savings?

  2. Well, government can make a good start by dismantling its bloated, ignorant and process-driven health and safety infrastructure, and replacing it with sensible safety management using (mostly) free advice from the HSE. Admittedly, I'm only looking at the subject from an MOD Army perspective, but I'm sure that the principles extend across government.
  4. Where I work you are now only allowed to use A5 envelopes, nothing bigger as they are trying to reduce postage costs. Can you believe it, what is our army coming to!!
