  1. We all know that Gordon is addicted to tax money and needs a new fix every couple of months.

I think I have found the latest one.

The Climate Change Bill might just as well be named the Lots of Lovely New Things to Tax Bill.

40 per cent of its electricity from renewable sources such as wind and wave power by 2020 = any electricity NOT from these sources will cost you extra so we can afford to build the wind farms.

reduce carbon emissions from 60 per cent to 80 per cent, and to include aviation emissions for the first time. = Anything you do that emits carbon will cost you more plus a nice little "green tax" on airfares - 10% sound about right?

a mandatory efficiency standard of 130g per kilometre for carbon emissions for cars by 2012 = a huge increase in road tax for any vehicle that doesn't meet these standards.

I could go on but I think you get the point. Stand by for the pips to squeak.
