  1. I'm off to brecon for a few months..can anyone recommend any good surf spots close(ish) please.

    cheers.

  2. Ah Brecon, that well known surfing hotspot. I can almost smell the ozone and hot wax. :?

  3. Try the gower, you can get there by going via Swansea, about 40 miles away from Brecon, but can't remember the A road number. Its about 50 miles way in total.

  4. Gower Peninsula-best place for surfing.

And Swansea is a hoofing run ashore :D

In fact, I think a crawl should be held there!

  5. My thoughts exactly!

  6. Thanks guys.

  7. Whitesands Bay, St Davids

  8. Llangennith (sp?) is a good place to start no real hassle from locals and peaks all along the beach, be warned though its one of the toughest places in the UK to paddle out if its over 4ft due to lack of rips. Nice campsite and good boozer further up the hill from the beach. Buy the surf UK guide by Alf Alderson it'll show you where all the breaks are, there are some nice spots in the Gower and it gets regular swells.

  9. or if that all sounds a bit full on, try talybont reservoir :)

  10. A bit further afield pembrokeshire is good.

  11. I'll second that. Newgale beach (Pembrokeshire) has some of the best surf in the country.
