Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. any advice on a decent pair of lightweight 'military style' boots to wear during the event?
stress on 'military style' as this is what it states on the requirements.

currently training in my meindl desert fox's, they're pretty lightweight, but struggling to bend my ankle

    cheers, ben
  2. Having done 2 P Coy Challenges, I'm surprised what I see on peoples feet, everything from arctic warfare ski boots to trainers. I spotted a young lady around the half way mark, just by the pond, squelching through glutinous mud in a pair of sparkly white Nike trainers with a BFO bergen on her back. Feknose how she managed up Land of Nod etc. I've worn BCH on both occasions 'cos I'm not going to bu@@er up my good Scarpas.

I guess it's what you make of it but if you break your ankle and you're not properly shod the DS will laff at you while slinging you in the jack wagon.
