Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Looking for a good pair of gloves for use on exercise when the weather is as cold it is at the moment. However I want to keep dexterity. The green contact gloves are too cold and NI gloves don't have enough dexterity to them.

Any suggestions, that you have tried and found to work?

  2. Sealskinz hunting gloves. Issued to our Firearms officers for a while, but for whatever reason (probably cost) we've gone back to a far cheaper brand.
I've got a pair and they work for me. You will always have a problem combining warmth with dexterity, as most insulation needs to be a certain thickness to work.
Another possibility would be Windstopper fleece, although not as hard wearing.

  3. you can get sealskinz through the system now apparently, issued at phase 1

paid 26 fcuking pound for mine!!! balls

  4. the Japan's Self-Defense fore gloves is quite good :D

  5. Don't put them in the tubble dryer like my Mrs!!!!! :(
