Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I have to wear glasses when focusing (driving, watching TV and im guessing when using a rifle?) is there any chance they can be put together with the goggles like the CBRN mask?

Yes you get inserts that clip in the issue goggles and shades.

  3. Thanks alot for the swift reply.

  4. IIRC, the form you require is the F/Med 79. You take that to the opticians, he/she fills in the prescrition and the Med Centre do the rest. You will get respirator lenses routinely and inserts for the ballistic sunglasses and goggles that you get on deployment. Those latter items could save you eye-sight or allow you to be a fully effective member of your team in combat, so are very important.

If you need to know more on how it works let me know.

  5. Many thanks, alot of valuable info there!

  6. ESS do an insert. i have a shite load. PM me and i will send you one free of charge. you will have to take it and get lenses made to fit.
