Gibraltar -Spain Kicking Off Again..

Spain has it's own problems with separatists, if it bangs this drum too loud it'll wake them up. The inhabitants of Catalonia and the Basque region regard Gibraltar as where they want to be.

The basque-whackers have been getting a hard time off the French intelligence srevices and judiciary in recent years.

Catalonias very nice though.

Nice little mountains to climb over.

Its always good to quote Ceuta and Melilla to the Spanish when they start getting lippy , and if they start getting too unpleasant they will loose the desperately needed UK tourist pound , they really do have some of the most corrupt morons in power.

Spain's right-leaning government led by Mariano Rajoy has taken a strident attitude on Gibraltar, which houses traditional British red phone boxes, pubs and fish and chip shops.

It believes the former Socialist government dealt a fatal blow to negotiations over its future by allowing three-way talks to include the pro-British Gibraltar government.
Is it just me or do spanish speaking countries have a habit of not wanting to involve the people who actually live on the bit of land they want in the decision making.

This little way of theirs inspired the masterpiece of Peter Brughel the Elder, 'The Triumph of Death' (below, detail from), when they were discussing territorial issues in the Netherlands.

Very pleased Cameron isn't another Blair and has made public commitments to Gibraltar equivalent to those made to the Falklands.

The Spanish can **** off.

Total unemployment UK - 21.9%

Total unemployment Spain - 51.1%

Ask the people of Gibraltar who they would prefer ruling them in light of those statistics. Then have a good day.
They've already been asked. Twice. The results were near unanimous.

I'm surprised the corrupt, dishonest, undemocratic, unwanted, gang of crooks running the European Soviet Union have not ordered Cameron to give Gibraltar back to Spain and to pay mega amounts of compensation.

You are quite correct; I despise the concept and the actuality of the European 'soon to Implode' Union. Gang of third rate foreign spivs!
