Gibraltar & Brexit ?

It just has... But, if we leave with No Deal, then all bets are off.
Spain hasn't stopped Gibralter becoming apart of the UK. It is still an overseas territory.
Spain got a promise from our weak PM so she wouldn't lose political face for her deal.

I see no problem in unifying Spain with Gib, but are the dagos ready for Westminster rule ?

The real irony with these irons is that they have bases in Ceuta and Melilla; two Spanish enclaves situated across the Strait of Gibraltar, on the north coast of Africa and whose existence is disputed by Morocco.
No, the real irony is the Spanish who live in Argentina talking about decolonising the Falklands. Once upon a time there were native Argentines but they were wiped out years ago.

Nothing like the armada baring its fangs…..
And that was nothing like the armada ....

Mr. GRB observed 'well look what happened the last time Spanish-speaking people tried to take control of a UK island'.

News today about a Sp warship trying to bully merchantmen anchored off Gib.

Spanish warship orders Gibraltar boats to leave British waters

What they need is Captain Bob Reid.

Sailing up past San Diego in international waters we were told by some USN dickwad to get out of the way. Captain Bob pointed out that we had right of way and if they wanted to argue with 35000 tonnes of liquid ammonia then bring it on.

They made way...

Close the Border, the last time was early 70's, Spain shut the gates and locked 'em, La Linea and, Algeciras were like 'ghost towns', the local Spaniards were highly peed off.

Similarity to the urban myth about a US Navy ship demanding right of way and being told "This is a lighthouse. Your call" ???

And perhaps more appropriately for this thread, the story of the Gibraltar signal station demanding "What ship?" of RMS Queen Elizabeth as the latter passed through the Straits. The ship is said to have replied: "What Rock?"

The Royal Navy deployes a luanch and a RIB....

Should have deployed a couple of Spearfish. Upperty fooking Spaniards need a slap.
Quarter of a tonne of PBX at 80 knots would seem appropriate.
Whilst we are at it, the RAF are long overdue a night out over Berlin
No, we would just have to tow the wreck out of the area. Time to issue cutlasses and form Boarding Parties.

Oh alright. I recognise the practical difficulties of sinking a Spanish warship in the imediate vicinity of Gibraltar.
Just pick one somewhere else, off Cape Trafalgar or maybe Cadiz?

With this talk of the perfidious fFrench and the uppity Dons, it's timely to resurrect this favourite of mine:

'YOUR correspondent wonders if Barnes Wallis got his idea for the bouncing bomb from Henry VIII's positioning of guns at Falmouth.
Devotees of the film The Dam Busters will know that Wallis admitted getting it from Nelson, who, for greatest effect, used to pitch his cannon balls rather short - about two-thirds of the distance between his guns and the target.
Wallis did however add that there was some evidence to suggest that at the Battle of the Nile he despatched the Fench flagship, L'Orient, with a "yorker" . . . '

What's not to like?: a bit of arrogant, casual racism, Barnes Wallis and bouncing bombs, Nelson (huzzah!) and knacking a foreigner with a quintessentially English sport.
