1:- Hypothetical scenario:- She turns states witness, names and shames those who participated in the sleaze and debauchery, resulting the great and the good in the dock, on the TV news, headlining the gutter press, being ostracized by their friends and business partners,and sacked from commerce, business and politics. She is then taken into witness protection. Just how long will she last before she is reported missing, or found in the trunk of a car in 60 feet of water.

2:- She uses her very considerable contacts in her world of filth to have words Read hefty bribes, with those in positions of power to have any, if at all, jail time quashed in favour of community service or some such non prison punishment.

3:- She goes down for 20+ years, as suggested up thread, just how long will it take before desperation forces her to name names in a deal, for an early release, OR, confide in a fellow con, who done what to who, all of which will eventually get back to the authority's, which will either round up the usual suspects, or quash it all, as some of those named are the people who sent her down, or were friends of the police, judiciary, show business and political figures allegedly named and listed in her diary- hard drive- notebooks.

Whatever happens to her, shes stuffed.

The FBI did not ‘mysteriously’ leave and come back later.
They found hard drives etc that were out of scope of their warrant and left them unattended until returning with a warrant
The drives were taken by Epsteins lawyers and handed over to the FBI - the FBI had documented and taken photographs of the drives and confirmed that there was no tampering

Maxwell is scheduled to be sentenced on 28 June and she faces up to 55 years behind bars. However, authorities calculate sentencing recommendations based on guidelines that take into account a variety of factors, such as a person’s criminal history.

So it could be more, it could be less, but it is reasonable to assume that, barring any mitigating circumstances, 20 years is reasonable expectation.

I believe that sentencing is one of the points in an American trial where negotiations take place for a reduced sentence in return for cooperation in further prosecutions against others.

Fascinating case and it seems the US system is completely screwed, trial by media, pleas bargains and effectively blackmail to co-erce witness cooperation.
