  1. Hey Lads/Ladeys

Nope, you have to go through the CoC.
  3. what if i rung CVHQ
  4. Just tell your PSAO to get off his fat idle grinner, and get on with it, or you'll write to Prince Charles.

    That should do it!

What Signal Regt are you in? Not just an idle question. Theories abound both here and elsewhere that certain TA Signal units have an unwritten policy/inclination to 'Go Slow' with mobilisation requests and effectively quashing them.

I've heard of quite a few cases of keen, eager and very capable blokes try for one mobilisation tranche after another only to hear nothing back. I've only ever heard this from Signals lads so I wonder if it is a unit thing.

If you want to be a tour-bunny for a couple of years, it might be worth your while rebadging. The infantry are always sending lads out. Good luck with it either way mate.
  6. What makes you want to volunteer? Cash, peer pressure.....just interested.
  7. Best bet might be to write to your OC asking about deployment opportunities and CC in the adj or training major. heh, at least then they have to give you a decent response.
  8. This is all sounding very familiar.......
  9. Have you been thou this then bibo
  10. Ha Ha..... I couldn't possibly say!!!!!!! :D

All I say is if your in a perticular Sig Brigade then good luck mate!

Oh and don't bother by-passing or "copying in" chain of command

    My advice.....

    1. Tell them nicely you want to be on a plane to somewhere sunny ASAP and if that doesn't happen you will be handing kit in.

    2. Hand kit in and move to inf.

Oh, good luck and be careful what you wish for..... you might just get it!

(well not in a certain brig!)

I believe you guys are in the same Regt too, which probably gets closer to the heart of the problem.

RSigslad, pay heed to this mate. There are plenty of mind numbingly arrse jobs for junior soldiers on the sprawling base camps at Basra Air Station and Shaibah Log Base where you could end spending your entire six months behind the wire escorting the Choggis around as they clean the toilets.

Infantry bods seemed to get snatched up by the Battalions and Force Protection Companies, but for pretty much everyone else, unless you'd been assigned a specific post, it was a real lottery. Especially for those with your cap badge, many of whom never once went outside the wire.

Either way mucker good luck with it!
