Heh, heh, heh.... (my bold)

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/wor...-tirade-shocks-Belgian-WWI-commemoration.html
Gérard Depardieu shocked an audience at a solemn First World War commemoration by turning up drunk and shouting obscenities. The 65-year-old French film star's embarrassing performance in Brussels on Sunday came after recently admitting that he sometimes drinks up to 14 bottles of wine a day.

On Sunday evening Mr Depardieu was due to recite poetry by Barbara, the French poet-singer, who survived France's wartime Holocaust. But the actor who shot to fame in Britain for his role in the 1990 romantic comedy Green Card alongside Andie MacDowell, began by waving his hands in the air, and shouting "merde" at the top of his voice.

14 bottles of wine a day? That makes even the most hardened drinkers on ARSSE lightweights.
Mr Depardieu was last year thrown off an Air France plane for urinating in the aisle as it prepared to take off, forcing the plane to turn back. He claimed he had a medical condition meaning he could not control his bladder.

Nothing like growing old disgracefully...

Depardieu is a fcuking legend.

In his younger days he was a male prostitute.

It says "up to" 14 bottles of wine a day. Probably like the sales which have "up to" 70% off and you find it's 5%. Or broadband speeds "up to" 100Mb and you're lucky to download a porn movie in half an hour......whooops! scratch the last....I mean a pdf on the future of the Armed Forces. (Phew, think I got away with that one).

One of the the big girl's blouse's finer moments.

Depardieu is a lightweight, Frog-eating mincer in comparison to Reed.

Gérard in his normal environment.

The guy doesn't know "average"; he is excessive in everything he does...

The before and after picture. Not a good advertisement for grog.

I think the drunken alcoholic is somewhat exaggerating.

A 13% bottle (750ml) of wine is 9.8 units. 14 of them is 127.4 units. Equivalents:

A 500ml can of Stella is 5 units. So 127.4 units equates to 50.96 cans of Stella in a day. (got that wrong should be 25 1/2 cans)

37.5% spirits at 37.5 units a litre equates to 3.4 litres so almost 3 1/2 bottles of vodka.

Think of the time it would take to quaff a bottle of wine if you had to drink 14 of them in a day. Even a mind numbing bottle an hour would be 14 hours solid.

I think what he means is his entourage can drink 14 bottles some of which aren't finished and lastly he wouldn't know any way because he spends the evening comatose in his own piss.

The novel writer Georges Simenon said that for while, he used to drink up to 6 bottles of red wine a day but never felt drunk; that supposedly helped him in his incredible production of books.

Georges Joseph Christian Simenon (French: [ʒɔʁʒ simnɔ̃]; 13 February 1903 – 4 September 1989) was a Belgian writer. A prolific author who published nearly 200 novels and numerous short works, Simenon is best known as the creator of the fictional detective Jules Maigret.
Simenon was one of the most prolific writers of the twentieth century, capable of writing 60 to 80 pages per day. His oeuvre includes nearly 200 novels, over 150 novellas, several autobiographical works, numerous articles, and scores of pulp novels written under more than two dozen pseudonyms. Altogether, about 550 million copies of his works have been printed.

If Gérard goes for a "fillette", that is a 50cl bottle, then that becomes more of a possibility; 5-6 litres a day was not so rare only a couple of generations ago...

Only 25 cans of Stella at 5% abv, still a lot but hardly impossible if you start at breakfast.
