Georgians to be deployed to afghanistan...

Good political move though by the Georgians. Keeps them in Obama's thoughts for the next time that Putin wants to do some sabre rattling.

They'll be OK with the Phroggies…

They both have something in common, both picked a fight with the Russians, both got their arses kicked by the Russians, both had to retreat from the Russians.

Probably going to pick up some extra skills from Terry Talib and use them against their not too friendly neighbours in Russlandograd

They may even pick up some very handy war-fighting skills from their NATO oppos too.

Stranger things have happened.

The Georgians are ok, the Edwardians were better, but the Victorians - now they knew how to fight.

The Georgians found out last year that current NATO COIN skills are irrelevant when it comes to stopping a good old fashioned armoured steamroller. And as the Russians didn't hang around in areas where the population didn't like them they weren't particularly vulnerable to insurgent tactics. If the Russians do anything it will consist of a quick shoeing to the Georgian Army and the destruction / theft of all military materiel they can lay their hands on, then back to base for vodka and medals. Just like last year.
