Fcuk, wnaker, cnut et al. Is there anybody in the whole world who doesn't know what the intended word is? What are the fops who use these terms trying to infer?

I find these pretend words discomforting.

Can people please swear properly?

Some people also post elsewhere, in places where obscenity filters kick in and delete swearing. Sometimes posters get banned too. On a youngsters forum where I used to moderate the filters were very strong and the "scunthorpe problem" was often complained about.

But anyway, getting back to your point. People get used to avoiding profanities and continue the habit when posting here.

However this is the Naafi, so, KUNTS!

I think that it has become a habit with some cunts because in the old days 'net nanny' software precluded the use of recognised expletives. Misspelling frustrates the software.

Actually, not so much the old days. Some of the Met Police system throws a wobbly when you use colourful language. This is a problem as you sometimes have to transmit information that contains a transcription of what was actually said by an offender.

Similarly, searches of the internet go through the 'net nanny'. There have been occasions when I have looked up something very dreary on a Home Office legislative site and been informed by the software that I have been logged surfing for porn and I could expect to be arrested.

If you punched in "Chimps in Latex.com" it would probably not bat a eyelid.

Even this site used to be quite heavily censored so all those alternatives for naughty words were common place here too
