but the facts don’t matter?
They sure do matter. Tell us all about the other blood product suppliers to the NHS. Just stretch yourself and dig a little further.

PFI, remember that.....we are still paying for it thanks to you socialist numpties.

Happy to help.

From a rag I am sure you are familiar with.

Oh and here: Bain Capital profits hugely from sale of privatised NHS plasma supplier to Chinese investment group

"It involved the sale of 80% of Plasma Resources UK’s equity to the US private equity firm Bain Capital for £90m, plus a Bain Capital Investment of an extra £50m in the firm to create a “UK Life Sciences Champion.” "

Sorry Derek, the article should have made clear that this is only about plasma supplies not blood. Plasma is donated by people in America because there is a theoretical risk of contamination of plasma by variant CJD in the UK. Blood that you and others donate in UK is handled by the publicly owned and run NHS Blood and Transplant. I will amend the article to make this clear. No private companies are involved and there is no one profiteering. Thanks for your comment"

And yet you were not distorting facts by dissing his whole post rather than the bit on the charity thus making it look like a vicious rape and murder had not occurred.

Therefore the difference between your post and his is?

The IFS speaks on Labour Nationalisation policy:

"Given their importance, and the enormous cost, complexity and risk involved in bringing them into public ownership the key question must be what is it that can be so much more readily achieved through a transfer of ownership that cannot be achieved through altering the current regulatory framework. These are, after all, all industries subject to significant regulatory control and it is unclear which of Labour’s stated objectives could not be achieved via changes to the current system of regulation."

Enormous cost, complexity and risk in return for .....nothing but satisfying socialist dogma

I’ve got that whole sketch on a Spike Live double album. Still dust it off now and again and it never fails to put me in a good mood. He may have been a Gunner, but he was a genius.

And a spiteful nasty old man!

For the more politically astute, what am I missing here

SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon says the future of the NHS should not be dependent on trusting Prime Minister Boris Johnson or US President Donald Trump.

Speaking on a campaign visit to Perth, Scotland’s first minister highlighted her party's plans to introduce legislation at Westminster to protect the NHS from trade deals.
How is this legislation going to happen?
  • Currently there is no 'Westminster’. Nowhere to introduce a new bill
  • If Boris wins with (or commands) a majority, Boris (in the form of the Conservative party (and any C&S partners) will decide whether any such legislation will pass through the house.
  • If Boris does not command a majority then there won’t be a need for such legislation because we’ll be stuck back in a three and a half year Groundhog Day.

Just more pushing the idea of the big orange bogeyman in the hope that people vote for anyone but the Conservatives.

One thing the IFS doesn't mention is that a Layabout Government would also be hampered by bilateral investment treaties. With them saying that parliament would set the compensation, any valuations that are seen as unfair will inevitably trigger compensation claims by investors.

Here is an article on investment treaties

Just one example of something like this you mean good sir?
There are others.
I will defend @Good CO here, whilst he flew in too fast and attacked the whole post he was correct in that my main point about setting up a charity was wrong.
That we need to be cautious of certain cultural attitudes should not be up for question.

not faux actually - imagine you started a website which gets increasingly abused for spreading this sort of half-truth rabble rousing right-wing "news". Once in a while a bit of ire is unavoidable. More annoying is that few seem to question this sort of obvious bullshit. It's as if the crime itself wasn't enough.
A very valid point good sir, and no one wants to see this great forum closed down because it has been overtaken by either out and out racists, or closet racists.
This site does a damn good job of no only self moderation amongst it's members, but also it has a very good mod team.
If this forum is once again coming under the spotlight then I'd be surprised that if it was for racism.
This forum is always going to attract it's critics, simply because anyone who is looking to take offence will do so. It's the era that we live in boss.
Maybe the way forward is via an annual subscription or something.

If you do an internet search for Army Rumour Service, this from 2016 is one of the links you will find on page 1. Hint, "Super" is not being used as a term of praise.

pay my subs mate.;)
Don't worry about it, my little northern friend. Good CO is an old time socialist at heart. I'm sure that in the event of this forum becoming a 'pay as you play' type of forum, that us Southerners will have to continue to subsidise you gentle, but poor, northern folk.
