Makes me glad that I watched Masterchef Professionals last night, at least there you could see the bluffing "I've been a Sous Chef for 3 years working in fine dining" twats for what they are, all arty farty pretentious shite with no knowledge of the basics.

ITV was not a debate - any attempt to make it so was curtailed.

Boris did his stuff, and Jeremy did his.

Jeremy is not a debater, he has lots of anecdotes and party mantras. His style is reminiscent of the Python quiz where Karl Marx is asked a football question and launches into "the people's control of the means of production" or suchlike.

I thought that and have said so before. Jezza is nails when he is on his script, isn't easily distracted, sticks to the words and doesn't really stray into analogies or metaphors. He will try to shoehorn one of his prepared answers into the response to any question. Off-script he is useless and a completely humourless tw4t. I have seen military press 'spokespersons', who are solidly sticking to the Lines to take, that are more charismatic and entertaining.

Thread drift, but seriously, how lacking in basic skills are some of those chefs?

I know f-all about working in a professional kitchen, but the looks of incredulity on some of the judge's faces do suggest a lack of same.

Unbelievable, The Lib Dems have produced their fourth piece of day glo Orange bumf. Both Cons and Labour trailing with one each - and that's West Oxfordshire!
The Lib Dem candidate is from the US of A, and emerged via Edinburgh into Witney - we love the local touch!

Yes I noticed that too, although I think the audience too were getting tired of Boris inserting a quick 'let's get Brexit done' every 30 seconds or so, don't these people know when they've overdone it, beyond that and being a bit on the back foot about stupid questions about the Royal family he didn't do a bad job.
The ad infinitum BREXIT line was probably his hope of covering up his zero-level personal integrity. Why talk about anything else when you can repeat BREXIT and hope it resonates, Ditto for Corbyn and the NHS

Dawn Butler, as thick as a whale omelette:

A thickie for sure, but she's got some way to go to outclass Dianne Abbott in the village idiot stakes

Seriously lacking, some of the trade skills tests are basic culinary knowhow, stuff you get taught at college. This programme just goes to show that a lot of people aren't attending college courses. A prime example last week was to "spatchcock" a quail, this involves cutting out the back bone and flattening out, they just cut out the wishbone.

I was expecting a fight, perhaps under Queensbury Rules or Stanley Knives at 4 paces.
Turned off after 10 minutes as no blood just whinging about each others party's.
Only decent thing I saw was the lovely Julie Etchingham, pity she dressed to prim & proper.

The Matelot was by far the best last night, on both tests!

If I understood Dawn Butler correctly: In 2007, under a Labour government, there were 3000 rough sleepers in Brent, but according to official local figures there are now, under a Conservative government, only 30. I would say that the Tories are working miracles in reducing homelessness: Who woulda thunk it?

It's amazing what you can do with figures, the Tories obviously have Diane Abbott in temping!

An example.

Rory Stewart is my MP currently. He is not standing inDec.

I do not have a scooby who his replacement is or where he stands on a range of issues.

I know that some think that it all happens in the last fortnight but honestly.
My new Tory candidate to replace K Clarke sent me leaflet a couple of weeks ago and replied within 2 days when I used the e-mail address to ask about her views and voting intentions on Brexit. Whether she's telling the truth, who knows, but she made an effort.

All standing Tory MPs have been whipped into line and are on a Brexit agenda and on message. Those that held contrary views are awaiting their redundancy packages - each MP that doesn't stand gets a £40k pay off (that was the figure a couple of years ago) - Not a lot of people know that!

The ones who have never been to college and learnt all the basics are the ones who will fail. Yeah OK they watch other chefs doing nice grub and can copy that or improvise but if it's outside of their little niche they're knacked. Person who impressed me last night was the ouchergetsum ex-builder, that dessert looked amazing and then the green sauce went on! 2 of those please!

Swinson live on the News now - apparently it’s the Lib Dem manifesto launch. Who’d have known? She seems to have been dominating the airwaves for weeks now. In the first minute she spewed out the lie that ‘one in five families in this country are living in Poverty’, quickly followed by the statement that ‘Tommy Robinson has endorsed Boris’ - failing to mention that Boris has not bothered dignifying that racists comment with a response.
Shameful. I truly hope she and her so called Democratic Party gets hammered at the General Election and the icing on the cake would be to see this sanctimonious, annoying woman lose her seat!

I see some polls score the programe as, BoJo 51 and Magic Grandad 49 almost the same percentage as the Brexit Referendum ! I feel the Royal Family question was a plant Magic had a glib answer straight away ! did you notice, on the other hand BoJo seem on the back foot for a short time.

I'm voting for fairness, equality and diversity in the election.

I'm voting for a man of principle and integrity to be our next PM. A man who hasn't left his constituency in decades.

I'm placing my trust in the chubby grasps of renowned economist Dianne Abbot, a woman of collossal political experience and weight.

I'm voting New Labour.

We eat at a lot of fine dining places and the end results are generally very good. But they're a shit place to learn to cook. Highly dependant on multiple complex sauces that deliver complimentary flavours but generally centred around simple well cooked meat/fish/veg the head chef cooks. A sous chef at a michelin starred place could spend three years reducing sauces and putting microherbs on plates and not have a scooby how to boil an egg.

Are they New Labour - rather thought that invoked the curse of posh Tony and his champagne socialists!
