Nothing new in his speech, just the normal "good friends" stuff thta has to be said.
The only interesting and frankly worrying bit was:
Discussing transformation, he said the British concept was to be pragmatic but evolutionary in its approach. The force needed to adapt to meet todayâs needs but it should do so without wholesale procurement of new equipment.
In other words: "Sorry Hank but we are hamstrung by a lack of funds. So if you want our support you will have to put up with an Army equipped with out-dated kit and a procurement system that cannot do its job. Awfully sorry but not our fault, its that Mr Blair who you all think so highly of."
