Gecko Models: 35GM0035 - British ATMP with Rescue Stretcher (1/35 scale)

After highlighting this model on the Military Modelling forum, I thought, in for a penny and ordered it from Fleabay for £29.99. The model arrived three weeks later in a box measuring 13¼ x 7½ x 3¾ containing the following:
29 x Grey plastic sprues (7 for each wheel liner and 7 for each wheel)
1 x Clear plastic sprue (lights and mirrors)

1 x Photo etched brass feet (25 items)
1 x small sheet of decals

The kit also includes a Driver figure in full MTP and a selection of weapons from L13A1 (Glock), L105A1 (SIG 226) to L85A2 and L85A2 w/UGL. And finally, a 16 page instruction manual.

The instructions are very clear with PE parts shown in yellow. All kit parts are well-moulded with little or no casting marks and certainly no flash. Looking through the parts, sprue Bc has only one item on it that would be used on the kit, the rest according to the instructions should be binned.

Painting call-outs occur throughout the booklet with a NATO scheme on the rear inner cover and a desert scheme on the rear outer cover.

This is a nice little model with plenty of scope for a diorama or stand-alone model.
Smeggers.

Gecko have also released a figure set, British SF, the ATMP is on the box art. The figure set seems to include a casualty (wounded), so Gecko's intention is possibly to combine both sets.

I would think that is the case. I have the box in front of me as I write. Putting both the kit of the ATMP and the figures is a diorama idea I have floating around. I hope Gecko buddies up with a Coyote and crew.

Shame the ATMP is not included in the box. The SF figures cost £19.99 while the ATMP is £29.99. Tidy little models. The wounded Blade has a splint moulded onto his leg and he could be placed on one of the stretchers included with the ATMP.

Re the spare items I think Gecko are planning a WMIK as there are some items that look suspiciously like MGSGDs' and a gun mount.
