Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Went to a show last week and took some pics.

    New Barrett .50cal suppressor.

    Barretts new .50cal.

A new model H&K 416 designated the H&K 416C. Made on special order for THEM and now being touted around for general sale. The full production model will have the standard H&K extending stock not the stumpy widget that is presently used.

FN SCAR, originally built for US SOCOM and not taken up by them. Nice weapon apart from what the techies call a reciprocating charging handle which means the cocking lever sticks out and flies back and forth everytime the action cycles.

New Surefire suppressor with anti-social pointy bits.

New Surefire 60 round and 100 round magazines. The 60 is fine but the 100 is too big IMHO.

This is the 60 rd fitted. No not me he's the rep.

    Barretts shorty M4 variant.

New Aimpoint Patrol sight. A budget model. They have just received the order for their millionth sight from the US Govt.

    H&K concept airburst weapon.

The chap that does them is a USAF KC-135 driver but much of the time seems to know what he is talking about when it comes to kit.

Lots of video from SHOT SHOW '10 & '11.

  3. Weapon mounted thermal sight.

Monitor showing output from thermal sight.

This is the ATACS camo pattern. It has been around for about a year now and has made some inroads and according to the designer is generating interest with those that have official cheque books ........... wellllll everyones got multicam now, time to move on.

Seriously though, weapon companies are providing it as an optional camo coating, one of the USA's big uniform manufacturers has started knocking out combats made using it, Danner is making boots using it there are a collection of companies offering plate carriers, vests and pouches made from it.

OK, ok, your bored so here she is. Please note the H4H wristband. Representing Magnum boots.

    FN SCAR.

Arc'teryx kit. Knee pad and a new "Rigger Belt" based on their climbing harness - very light and compact.

  4. I'd like to order this model please, to see if I can remember how to field strip one.

What's the spares situation like? Do they still have the standard 28-day maintenance cycle? Can I get one for Arctic operations, with say blue eyes and blonde hair?

Jealous much! Did you get a chance to shoot any of the rifles? Any freebies?

  6. The KAC were worthy of a slime that had just passed his PV.......they would talk technical but would give no indication of the customers unless they were marked on the display.

    [cough]yes & yes[/cough]..........

Lucky! I'd love to go one year, looks awesome. Would have to take multiple spare pairs of underwear per day though...

  8. Any chance of posting a HK416 to me? Few people I'd like to speak to with that in my grubby mitts.

  9. I'd love to JD. However, the civvy version I would love to have costs $2500 and thats with a discount.

    Crye.

Kifaru. Love them or hate them. This is their new ultra lightweight silnylon offering - it shaves around 3 lbs and a tad off the weight.

Vertx. New shirt / top, nice and lightweight and designed to keep you cool.

Accuracy International with a thermal sight.

EOD gear. The 2 septics manning this stand had done some training in Didcot, good lads.

    EOD toolbox, Pelican case.

Newish Leatherman MUT. Designed as a multitool to help keep the M4 rifle serviced. IMHO, a clasp knife would do the job just as well. They also have a new 300 Supertool which is useful for EOD, which I like.

This is the Mystery Ranch pack. A tri-zip job with molle points and attachments inside. A very nice piece of kit, I know that THEIRS like it and if the rep is to be believed THEM and THE OTHERS like it too. There is also a Camelbak tri-zip this is designed by the Mystery Ranch people and is a tad cheaper, also a nice piece of kit.

    Dillon Minigun.........nuff said.
