The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. As im wanting to join the REME as a motor vehicle mechanic i have both science and maths at grade B but a E in English and as i need all D's and above i was wondering Does a Edexcel Adult Literacy level 2 Certificate which i took in November of 2006.. do/would the army accept this as a sub for my GCSE grade in English..? :?

a level 2 grade would be a A*-C grade equivalent as i was told by the person who told me about it back in 2006 and by my college course manager... :?

Quote from there site "At Levels 1 and 2, the National Tests in Adult Literacy and Adult Numeracy are at the same level as a GCSE."

  2. Please ask your local AFCO. This is pretty obscure and they should have the references. Of course, if the answer is "what GCSEs do you have", you may want to try the online or telephone recruiters.
