Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Please help a young soldier in need of some guidance, but what exactly are G1, G2, G3 and G4?????
  2. The G numbers are staff branches:

    G1 Admin
    G2 Int and Security
    G3 Ops
    G4 Logistics
    G5 Plans
    G6 Comms
    G7 Training
    G8 Finance (I think!)
    G9 Civil/Military Liasion

  7. G12 - shortlived boyband formed by Glasgow posse in response to E17.
  8. G13 - a bit of Glasgow near Knigthsworth Park.
  9. We need to get out more - like womens menses our thought trains are converging.

And on that note I am going home to mingle with the real people who actually have faces I can see.

    And to find some G13.
  11. Terrifyingly (and I mean that without a hint of sarcasm at all and in a, 'ooh, what a lovely tone of siren for this hour of the night', kind of way) I was recently made aware of the existence of an SO2 G1/G8 at Div level, which tells you more about the way the army is going to be 'run'* during the next parliament than anything whatsoever you're likely to come across elsewhere.

    * Editted to add that the, 'run', in question, is, 'down'.
  12. G15, houses for peasants.

  13. And when we run out of G numbers, we move on to H. I'm H1V - I'm postive about that.
