FV433 question

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Putting the final pictures together for the FV432 books and noticed that some Abbots had a metal box on the left of the barrel. What was housed in that?
  2. If my memory serves me correctly it was the muzzle velocity tester, Cannot remember the correct terminology!!! That was a great gun loved every minute of it.

Also seem to remember that the fuel hopper was located on the turret side somewhere to the left or right of the barrel housing!!!
  3. I think i remember it as the Muzzle velocity measuring device (MVMD)!!!
  4. I can't remember there being a box to the left (or the right) of the barrel, but there was the MVMD (?) on top of the barrel, nearest to the turret.

If you post a pic, then we'll have a better idea what you are on about. It's been a few years since I played with one you see
